About This Journal
Advanced Spine Journal (ASJ) is an international and multidisciplinary open access journal for the study of the spinal disorders. The journal publishes original, peer-reviewed articles on research related to the spine and high-quality, ethical, evidence-based spine care, including basic science and clinical investigations.
ASJ publishes full-length articles (in the form of Clinical Studies and Basic Science papers), Technical Reports, Review Articles, Case Reports, Letters to the Editor and several other special features. All submissions are accepted with the understanding that they have not been, and will not be, published elsewhere substantially in any format. Also, there should be no ethical concerns with the content or data collection. ASJ reserves the right to request any research materials on which the paper is based. ASJ is fully sponsored by and is the official journal of the Egyptian Spine Association
Journal History
The ASJ has been published steadily since January 2012 under the name Egyptian Spine journal and through the Egyptian Spine Association's official website (http://esa.org.eg/). In 2017 the journal has been transferred to a more professional system and website that had been sponsored by the Egyptian knowledge Bank (https://esj.journals.ekb.eg/). On 2022 we get another partial sponsor from the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) and transferred to Digital Common (DC) by Elsevier with a more advanced system and technical support. As from January 2023, the title of the journal has been changes to Advanced Spine Journal under the last policy with DC.
Publisher/Editorial Office
The ASJ is the official journal of the Egyptian Spine Association, and its publication is fully sponsored by the ESA since it has been established. The ESA is the first subspecialized spine association in Africa and Middle East that is devoted to spine disorders care and spine surgeons. All members are spine devoted surgeons with either Neurosurgical or Orthopedic background. The ESA welcome members from other specialties that is related to the spine care.
Publishing Schedule
The ASJ is published steadily and regularly on quarterly bases in January, April, July, and October yearly since 2012. From 2023 and on, the journal moved to continuous article publication (CAP) model, so our publication is one volume, one issue per year in a CAP model.
